Chess Master Connections (CMC) has been teaching at Eldredge School since 2008. Many students continue working with CMC throughout their academic journey and even after graduating from college. Over the years, several students have gone on to become highly rated chess players.

Girls on the Run has fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. Learn more at https://www.gotrri.org/

Explore your creative side and get to use materials not usually offered in art class! Art club is for students who love practicing art and making fun crafts with their friends. Each session is spent creating one large scale project that is brought home at the end of the session. It is usually offered both Wednesday mornings and afternoons, and is instructed by Miss Healey.

Learn basketball with Coach Tim Welsh. Coach Welsh will teach shooting skills, ball handling, defensive skills, and mental approach.

Join a role playing game where you join friends to form an adventuring party, explore fantasy worlds together, and embark on epic quests. Team building, math skills, compromise and negotiation skills will be some of the core skills we will work on. 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, the kids will just need paper and a pencil, everything else will be provided.

Sensei Brett of Innovate Karate will be offering a before-school karate program. This program will teach students basic karate techniques for self-defense, while also developing focus, balance, awareness, and discipline. All students will have the opportunity to earn their official karate white belts at the end of this program.

The Media Detective program is an activity-based, media literacy education and alcohol and tobacco use prevention program that engages children in learning about media and substance use. Led by the dynamic detective duo, Snoop and Scoop (dog and cat mascots), students learn about the 5 clues that can help them solve the mystery of advertising. The program consists of interactive activities and critical thinking skills to better understand messages about alcohol and tobacco products. Students practice applying their skills to analyzing ads and other media messages that they encounter in their everyday lives, so that they stop and think before simply accepting persuasive and often unhealthy messages. Join One on One Basketball for our Before School Dodgeball Program at Eldredge. Coach David will conduct a one-hour session each week before school. This program will consist of various versions of Dodgeball games such as Pirate Dodgeball, Submarine Tag, Paintball Dodgeball, which students will have an opportunity to experience while having fun and learning how to be part of a team. We will also play Indoor Kickball, Capture the Flag, and Wiffle Ball.

Learn the basics of the Python programming language while creating fun programs and games. Students will work individually on their personalized projects, which will be available for them to download when they are done. Students will learn critical thinking, logic and time management skills. No prior programming experience necessary.

Learn robotics using LEGO Spike Prime robots with block programming. Students will work in groups of 3 or 4 to assemble simple robots using LEGO motors and sensors, then will program those robots to perform specific tasks using a block-based programming language. Students will learn teamwork, communication skills, engineering concepts, critical thinking, logic and time management. No prior programming or robotics experience necessary.

Step into the world of exploration and innovation at our Rockets Building Workshop. Igniting young minds with the thrill of amateur rocketry, these workshops are a dynamic fusion of fun and education. Guided by experienced mentors, participants embark on a journey through the realms of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), as they construct their own rockets from scratch. Assembling components, understanding aerodynamics, and mastering propulsion principles, participants engage intimately with physical sciences in ways textbooks can't convey. This hands-on experience not only sparks excitement but also imparts vital STEM concepts and practices, nurturing curious minds into the architects of tomorrow's advancements.

Welcome to the Sport of a Lifetime! We use a games based approach to guide learning. Watch as Eldredge Gym transforms into a world class tennis facility! All equipment provided.

Kids Yoga is a great way to wind down from the school day! We use breathing exercises to calm, dance warm-ups to move energy, crafting to focus, and of course yoga poses through games and stories, to connect within and with others. Mats are provided.

Students will explore their interests in wildlife and wild places with Roger Williams Park Zoo through games, activities, and live animal encounters.
